PROFESSIONAL AND TRADE LICENSING ACTIONS SC LLR LAWYER IN COLUMBIA, SC

PROFESSIONAL AND TRADE LICENSING ACTIONS:

For most people, their profession or career represents both many years of work and tens of thousands of dollars of investment as well as the means by which they make a living.  The practice of many professions and trades require a State License or Certification issued by a Board.  The Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (SC Dept. LLR or “LLR”) is the South Carolina agency that would investigate licensing issues for the various licensing Boards also under the LLR umbrella.

When a Board and the LLR move against someone’s license, the underlying procedural law is governed by the Administrative Procedures Act (APA) and substantive administrative law.  The substance is governed by the specific Practice Act developed by the specific profession and any regulations promulgated by that Board.

DO I NEED AN ATTORNEY?

The Attorneys at Ormond-Dunn understand how much your ability to practice your profession, craft or trade means.  We will assist you in defending your license or certification allowing you to practice your craft, trade or profession and preserve your career and ability to make a living.

If you are contacted by an LLR investigator or an investigator from the relevant Board or entity relating to a licensing issue, an attorney can assist in determining the seriousness of the matter and, if necessary, defend you in front of the Board and/or LLR.

The Firm’s professional license and certification defense practice includes most professions and trades including:

– Engineers

– Construction trades

– Physicians

– Physician assistants

– Nurses

– Geologists

– Foresters

– Pharmacists

– Cosmetologist /Barbers

– Others

It is important that a professional who has been contacted by an investigator with the LLR or Board focus on the issue immediately.

Both Charles “Chuck” Ormond and Ben Dunn have experience with the LLR and Licensing hearings.  One of us will provide an initial consult for a $50.00 fee in order to discuss and evaluate the matter.  Even if you choose not to use an attorney initially, the information in this consult should assist anyone who has not been through the process.
